Christmas Blessings from our home to yours!

Image
Hope each of you had a very Merry Christmas!! We had a lovely day starting with our family tradition of apple dumplings for breakfast and opening gifts.                                    One gift was special matching aprons for Mom and Laura!                      Dad gave us a very special gift that was a complete surprise to everyone! He told us to get our coats on and come outside where he pushed this fourwheeler out of the trailer! We were so delighted!! Everyone took turns riding around even though it was freezing cold and very windy outside!    Mom's two brothers and their families came over for dinner and the rest of the day. We had a huge meal with more then enough food for everyone. Afterwards everyone settled in small groups to play games including Dutch Blitz, Probe, Rook, Boggle, and puzzles. Later on, some friends from church, the Hughes, came over and several of us young people gathered to play music together. There were three guitars played by Ezra, D

Oh there's no place like home for the holidays...

There's been huge changes in the air since the last time I've posted! We've once again changed our address and are now living in PA in the same general area as before! It came up much faster then we expected but we felt the Lord clearly leading us in this next step and we took the plunge, moving in just 6 weeks after deciding. We've now been here exactly two weeks and are starting to feel like we are "home".   Here are some pictures of our new house and farm. We have plenty of room and we love visitors so if you are in the area, please drop by!!  This picture is the most recent with the scattering of snow on the ground but the pictures below with the green grass are from a few weeks ago. =)        We did a little remodeling including tearing out some awful carpet and laying a solid floor as well as painting.  The boy cousins helped us tremendously whether putting in flooring, pulling staples or just playing the piano to cheer us on. =)

Autumn happenings and Family Trips

Image
Autumn is here for good with it's chilly breeze and swirling leaves not to mention all those crunchy acorns all over the yard! In early October we decided to take a  family vacation trip but we always manage to have another reason to go on a trip as well and this time it was going to visit Grandpa Bradford. He recently suffered a severe cardiac arrest and was in the hospital and rehab for weeks awaiting 5-way bypass surgery. So, we headed down to South Carolina first, to visit him and my dad's brother and family who live near him.   Here are some pictures of our visit.  We drove through the Smoky Mountains in TN on our way down and stopped at this amazing overlook for a picture. If we all look a bit haggard it's because we'd been in the vehicle for the last 13 hours. =)                                Truly this scenery gives us just a little picture of the glory of God!                                                   Visiting with Grandpa in the Rehab.

Working at Grandpa's house

A few Morley cousins came in for a few days so it was a good time to get some odd jobs done at Grandpa & Grandma Morley's. We girls stacked piles of wood and a few of us ran the power saw to chop some of the boards in smaller pieces. We also cleaned out the flower beds and raked leaves while the boys went to a local sawmill to pick up three trailer loads of wood chunks.  Unloading trailer loads of wood for Grandpa's wood stove this winter. Many hands make the job easier!                                      Crystal and Carrie playing duets in the afternoon.

Mrs Jersey enters the family!

For many years our family has wished for a cow. And last evening, our wish became reality!! Dad drove to Mansfield MO to pick up a pretty little Jersey cow and her 10 day old heifer calf. The pictures will tell the story. =)                                             Not sure that these two vehicles exactly match....                                             Letting her loose in our pasture for the first time.                   We haven't decided on names yet for our two bovine friends. Any ideas?                                                            The little miss Jersey!                                                                    Milkin' time!                             We didn't have all the supplies yet but we wanted to milk her anyway!                                      From the pasture to the kitchen, from the cow to the cup!                                       The End. (Anybody need milk? We've got extra to sh
