Another school year is over!
The children finished up their school work this week and to celebrate we planned a field trip to the historic town of Jim Thorpe which is situated near the Poconos Mountains.
Our first stop was the old fashioned, passenger train where we got tickets to ride in the open cars.
The train ride lasted around 70 minutes and took us through the beautiful Lehigh Gorge which wound along beside the river there.
After a lunch in town, we decided to tour the "Old Jail Museum". It was a stone jail, built in 1871, with 27 cells and a basement dungeon. The tour was very informative and the building was a little spooky! We all decided we prefer to stay outside the bars!!

You can see the charming train station behind us here.
We don't look too impressed to be behind bars. ;)
On Memorial Day, we gathered with our local relatives to celebrate with a picnic, fellowship and games!
Looks like you had a fun !!
